Low fuel quality may lead to engine damages and thus to relevant failure risks for precious equipment. SP3H sensor will detect bad fuel quality to prevent irreparable damages in case of inappropriate fuel-filling. With the risk of dangerous fuels comes the risk of unplanned maintenance shutdowns, or engine failure, and the inability to meet set power generation targets.
If a bad fuel is detected, different strategies can be put in place in order to protect engines:
• Directly interacting with the engine management system to reduce the engine load until a protection mode if bad fuel is detected
• Configuring maintenance and service schedules for optimized running and reduced down-time and operating costs
• Stop the engine only if no other solution is possible
