SP3H sensor allows an optimization of engine parameters depending on the fuel quality. The sensor in conjunction with engine settings would improve fuel economy and reduce emissions on real field conditions.
Insofar manufacturers use a single fuel to the engine calibration, they apply safety margins. This ensures the engine to operate in an "average" mode to take into account the fuel range of variability. These margins cause higher fuel consumption and therefore CO2 discharges and emissions (NOx, CO, particulates) more important.
